Whimper...

When we decided to put up rigid blue board insulation, we invested in the thickest stock we could find with the highest R-value. We went out of our way to mark the joists for when the contractors installed the ceiling. Then we spent an afternoon drilling the board into the joists in the ceiling. We were very happy with our result and proudly left the scene, looking forward to the completed project.

And then it happened. The plasterer told us yesterday that because of the thickness of the board, strapping was required. Strapping wasn't in the plasterer's contract. And oops - it also wasn't in our contractor's contract either.

No big deal. LeeMichael and I decided that we would take on the project on our own.

And all I can say is that I HATE strapping. I really do. So much it makes me want to go fetal and whimper. We got the work in one room done this morning at 1AM. 6 hours before we had a meeting at the house with a contractor. And we live 35 minutes away.

I used to be able to bounce right out of my bed after a long night of installing ceilings. This morning, I didn't bounce as much as I crawled... But LeeMichael has proven to be a champion. As I type tonight's blog, LeeMichael is still at the house installing strapping in yet another room. He is a strapping animal!!!! And he is the best for letting me sit this one out.

He rocks - or at least preps for rocking! HA!

Yup - that tired.
