Drip, Drip, Drip...

So, remember when LeeMichael and I decided to move out of the house because a faucet wouldn't shut off (and bunnies were dying...)?

SPLASH!

LeeMichael arrived at the house on Thursday to discover a small leak had left a large puddle perfectly supported by our plastic-lined (halleluia) furniture and LeeMichael's two favorite paintings. Somehow, the water only made it onto the covers.

We heard from the contractor that a sink had a slow leak and the stopper had been in the down position. This caused a small flood but luckily nothing was harmed.

EXCEPT for the story about the sink, which didn't hold water so to speak.

When we arrived the following day, the flood had returned with renewed vigor. This time, the water had soaked the walls, the ceiling and the floor and the puddle was back (thankfully, the paintings had beem relocated). Only problem was the sink was in the BARN!!! It had been removed.

In a truly tragic turn, the 50 year old carpet in the kitchen was soaked during the flood. Unfortunately, it and 50 holiday seasons will not be able to be saved. ;)

In any case, the water main is off. We should now be protected from the floods. But the plants now need to be watered by hand with water from a willing neighbors spigot.

Isn't home renovation fun?
